Tatiana Terekhova as Gamzatti and Redjen Abdyev as Solor in the grand pas de deux of Gamzatti and Solor from the second act of La Bayadere. Terekhova was a really wonderful dancer from the Kirov. Enjoy!
Below is the Coppelia pas de deux performed at the Bolshoi Ballet. Swanhilda is played by Maria Alexandrova and Franz by Artem Ovcharenko. Such a beautiful and loving pas de deux with expressive choreography and gorgeous music… One of my favorites… Enjoy!
I find it amazing that she had only six years at the Vaganova school and is such an excellent technician. Her artistic talents are equally as amazing, she makes every movement look effortless, as it should look. They look like dances for the stage not just exercises for class. I’m grateful that my teacher is teaching me like this, it really is superior.
Enjoy, the incredible Natalia Makarova!
Alexander Pushkin, Ballerina, Ballet, Classical Ballet, Ilya Gaft, Ilya Gaft Dance Theatre, Kirov Ballet, Mariinsky Ballet, Natalia Makarova, New York Ballet Institute, Pas de deux, Russian Ballet, Summer Intensives, Vaganova
Above is a video of Natalia Makarova working at the barre. This training is, of course, the excellent Vaganova method that was taught so beautifully at the Kirov School. My teacher (Studied under Pushkin, Nureyev and Baryshnikov’s teacher) was also taught just as well, a principal dancer at the Kirov Ballet, and taught pas de deux and classical ballet at the Kirov School as well. If any one is interested in this beautiful training he and his wife are holding a summer intensive and you can find more information about it on this page: https://www.facebook.com/NYBISI2015?fref=ts
Please consider donating to my GoFundMe account! You can do so at the above link, I would be so grateful. If you can’t personally donate, but know of someone who might be able to please, share it with your friends and family and help me spread the word!
This opportunity means the world to me, and unfortunately I can’t rent a studio to practice in without funds… Please, if you can donate or share… Thank you!!
Yesterday was a very sad day for balletomanes everywhere, yesterday marked the death of Maya Plisetskaya, the Bolshoi Ballet’s Prima Ballerina. Maya was one of the most gifted artists to ever grace the stage, a true virtuoso performer that could dance any and every role. It feels unreal to me that she has passed away, one of my idols, that I will never be able to meet… Below is a video of Maya in Raymonda. Enjoy, and RIP Maya Plisetskaya.
